COMPUTER AS A BEST TECHNOLOGY

           NETWORK AND INTERNET ENGINEERING
Computer networks and the internet are critical to our world today, both in business and in our everyday life. They are used to shape commerce, extend social groups and change the way we access information and entertainment.
THE WORK
The Internet has already become an economic reality. The vision, design, implementation and development of this evolving communications infrastructure require a new type of technical workforce with a solid background in engineering, computing, management and entrepreneurship.
Network Engineers design, implement, and maintain both the hardware and software necessary for a computer network. They are high level technical analysts with a specialty in Local Area Network/Wide Area Network.
An expert in network engineering builds and administers a corporation’s LAN and WAN networks. This administration includes selecting or advocating the apparatus and software to fulfill a corporation’s IT requirements as well as supervising the implementation of new system and taking measures to ensure the optimal functionality of such systems.

TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT

RECENT DEVELOPMENT IN TECHNOLOGY

v  On April 5, the Discovery Space Shuttle blasted
off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida
with seven astronauts, including three women
mission specialists on a 13-day mission aboard
 the International Space Station.

v  On April 10, French doctor and explorer Jean
Louis Etienne made the first Arctic crossing aboard
his balloon the Generali Arctic Observer. He took
off from the Norwegian archipelago of Spitz Berger
on April 5.  Shuttle Discovery and its astronauts
returned to on April 20, wrapping up their 15-day,
9.7 million km journey to the International Space Station.
v  On February 26, 2011 Russia successfully launched
a next-generation navigational Satellite for its Glossnass
Global Communication System. Glossnass-K was launched
into orbit from the northern Plesetsk Space Centre. It is
hoped to challenge the dominant US Global Positioning System(GPS).

STRINGENT MOBILE RADIATION NORMS

STRINGENT MOBILE RADIATION
There is a grave concern over high level of electromagnetic radiation from mobile towers and handsets. A high-level world ministerial committee has called for revision of radiation norms to suit world conditions and environment. It called for imposing strict restrictions on installation of mobile towers near high residential areas, schools, playgrounds, and hospitals. The committee has recommended the use of hand-free and ear phone technologies such as Bluetooth handsets and ear phone so as to minimize the contact of head with mobile phone. However, a number of studies  have reported the link between exposure to radio frequency radiation and occurrence of disorders in cells, DNA, immune system, hormones, and reproduction.

SCIENCE AS A MEDICINE

                                           DID YOU KNOW?

BOILING PEANUTS
     1.  Boiling peanuts in their kernels (the way they are often eaten) may make them four times richer in disease fighting photochemical than their raw, roasted, fried counterparts. Boiling may also absorb antioxidants from the shell.
BUTTON MUSHROOM
2.Buttons mushrooms, say Tufts University researchers, may help ward off viruses and tumors by boosting the immune system’s killer cell activity.
3.A study of Boston University researchers revealed that Candy and other empty calories can thicken carotid artery walls much like cholesterol, thereby providing to be potentially harmful to heart as well as our waistline. Foods that spike blood sugar may also contribute age-related mental degeneration.

RESISTANT STARCH

3.Resistant Starch is a type of dietary fiber naturally found in many carb-rich foods such as beans, unripe bananas, yam, potatoes, barley, brown rice, and corn. When these foods are cooked and then cooled, they may help us :
1. Exercise blood sugar control
2. Increase our body’s ability to burn fat
3. Boost satiety inducing hormones
4. Improve immunity and may be even cutting cancer risk.
One may ask how it works with the last. As the name suggests, resistant starch resists digestion thereby causing it to ferment in the intestines. This helps boost the growth of healthy pro biotic bacteria

THE MOST SPCTACULAR SUN

 ASOLAR ATMOSPHERE
A PICTURE SHOWING THE ATMSPHERE OF THE SUN
We are, indeed thrilled when we learnt about the Sunspots that exhibit a cosmic dance with      their ever changing shape. The Sun, not only throws a challenge to man forever, but also fascinates.
Seen from the Earth the photosphere appears to us as the boundary of the Sun. The Sun,which is essentially a huge mass of gas, has no such limitation. There are two more zones above the  photosphere. They are called the Chromosphere, which is 10,000 Km thick and the Corona. Corona extends to millions of kilometres and sometimes reaches even the Earth’s orbit. In the astronomers terms, these zones are known as Solar atmosphere.
DENSITY OF THE ZONES
As these zones are far away from the centre of the Sun, the gravitational force falls rapidly. The Density of the gas also decreases to very low levels. For instance in the photosphere it is about a billion times less than the density at the core. In the Chromospheres it is less by another ten thousand times and in the Corona the density is further reduced by anther ten thousand times.
Generally when we move away from something hot, we experience the difference in temperature. It is true that we expect the same on the Sun, as the zones are far removed from the centre of the Sun. It is not so. The temperatures rapidly increase across the zones from about 5800 degree Kelvin at the photospheres to about 10000 degree Kelvin at the top of the Chromospheres and to more than a million degree in the Corona. Hence the gas in these Zones is in a highly ionized state.
Do these gases emit radiation? Yes, they do, characteristic to their respective temperatures. As they are so weak due to the low density, they are not visible to the naked eye on a normal day against the bright photosphere. However, they are visible, though for a short duration, during total solar eclipse. When the moon completely covers the photospheres, the chromospheres can be seen as a reddish ring around the darkened photospheres and the Corona as an irregular whitish halo.

THREATS TO SCIENCE

HIV-AIDS AS A THREAT TO SCIENCE
1. From the beginning of life on the ailing planet   THE EARTH, human beings were successful to tackle with different   problems and run the life in a sophisticated way. But today the farsighted humans are challenged by the problem which may lead to serious problem. The day-night labor of the scientists has gone in vain. Such disaster which has really made life on the earth difficult is “HIV-AIDS”. This problem is going to celebrate its 2nd diamond jubilee but till now no remedies are found for this challenging disaster. This problem is extending its effect and every year millions of people die because of this disease. If science is really a boon than why can’t it search the solution for this challenging disaster? Isn’t it the threats to the science and the followers of science?
 NATURAL DISASTER    AS A CHALLENGE
2. We, the humans, are supernatural creature of the ailing planet the earth. We have the power to rule this world because we always sing the song of science. We always look on the light side of anything. We are creator as well as destroyer of this only living planet the earth. Because of our more dependency on the natural resources and due to the population growth, the carrying capacity of the earth is decreasing day by day. If such trend continues the earth is going to disappear in a century. If science has really power why can't it stop the devastation created by the natural disaster?

CAN SCIENCE BE BOON TO BIOLOGICAL LIFE?

Science is a subject of experiment , observation and analysis of everything  present  in  the  universe.During  experiment, observation and analysis , can it be worse to  living creatures. In fact science has made life more easier but it's affect on universe may be intolerable. The  more use of any technologies can create destruction. For instance if we use cellphone for more period it may cause brain hemorrhage  or  skin  cancer. It is true the more use of technology creates destruction but if the same thing is used  for  limited  time  it  is  boon  for us.It doesn't create any destruction but helps living creature to do his/her daily work  smoothly.Overall  we can have conclusion that ''SCIENCE IS BOON TO BIOLOGICAL LIFE'',if its  use is done wisely.
